movement began, and I started writing full time about police brutality & racial violence, Rachel Held Evans was one of the only prominent white Christians that shared my work publicly.
Before the #BlackLivesMatter Movement, I had dozens of well known white Christian friends that I had made across the years. Like Rachel Held Evans, I sometimes spoke at their conferences & events.
After the #BlackLivesMatter Movement, they all bailed. Really, except her.
I am sorry for your loss, Shaun. Sorry for ALL of us. We need fresh, Progressive Voices in the Christian community more than ever. To lose THIS Voice is a staggering loss. 37. It's unimaginable. Blessings to you and to Rachel's family. Her kindness will linger in you.
Wow! I had no idea. You don't seem like believers I've known. Most Christianity I've encountered is more about being in the fold than doing the work.
