I agree. But I think people, yourself included, are spending too much time critiquing the candidates they don’t like vs. educating folks on the candidates you do like! Just seems like wasted energy to dump on ones that aren’t your preference. Just my opinion.

There you go again, measuring the artifice of political image-making against candidates' actual record. It's so much easier to simply swallow the spin of the presumed, entitled candidate. Establishment thinking just requires us to rally behind the line of succession.

This is a great line of thought, but also a rabbit hole. I might argue that feelings is where all the other things you cite start. Like: what *motivates* you to evaluate political history, beliefs and so on... I like the line of thought tho--thinking=good

No reason why it can't be a mixed balance of both in an ideal world.

I also look at where they stand now because I understand that ppl evolve. Does Bernie still support maduro? It seems his idea of what socialism is has evolved. Do I judge him then or now? For now, the supreme court is most important & how I vote.

Beliefs is actually a dog whistle term though. As I child I thought it meant moral value but I've learned it's a form of tribalism.

Feelings are a valid factor. If I FEEL like you're not going 2 meet my needs, and your political history, beliefs, philosophy, and character (or lack thereof) reinforce that feeling, then I'm gonna FEEL some kinda way @ supporting you and maintaining my integrity at the same time

Try a little #Shaunesty, admit you can read peoples minds. You like totally for sure know what people are thinking! Yes indeed. You can totally watch a clip from decades ago and know exactly what the person was thinking then & now. That's what an ace mind-reader you are.
