Sure. I will. But my point is that, looking at 1994 through our understanding of things in a 2019 context overlooks just how bad things were in the 80's and 90's. We romanticize it now, but the streets were legit dangerous and the '94 Crime Bill was something people wanted.

But look at the crime rates from the 80's and 90's vs. those of today. Even with Chicago's level of violence over the past few years it pales in comparison to 1992 when Dantrell Davis was murdered. I don't think it's fair to critique the bill outside of understanding that context

YES YOU ARE! My son’s father was MURDERED in 90, TWO DAYS AFTER HIS 1st bday because of some ignorant turf war. You really need to knock it off talking about those times because a lot of people lost their lives & souls because of their own people.

I have two cousins born as crack babies & struggle as adults because most of my so called friends so drugs to my aunts. Most of those friends are dead & a few went up state because we decided that enough was enough and we got that shit out of our hood. So please STOP IT!
