Not my first, second, third, or twenty fifth choice for president. But if it comes down to him or 45, I'm choosing him.

I’m sure he sees it differently now. But pls explain to me why Bernie wants to allow prisoners to still vote???
-
What are people so afraid of with the prison vote? Are they voting for different things that the population cannot vote on? They are voting for the same things you and I would vote for.

Context matters. He def has some explaining to do but to paint him in this light is not fair imo.
-
But Biden is saying that himself. He’s painting himself in this light.

People have evolved since then. Their understanding has evolved. So has Biden's

And yet the people sentenced under his bill still languish in our prisons. No. Just no. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violent_Crime_Control_and_Law_Enforcement_Act?wprov=sfla1 …

I understand that everyone's gotta get paid, but black people who support Joe Biden just because they are establishment dems, strike me as people who don't know where they are coming from. They are people who are without a community. They are selfish, gross sellouts!

Funny thing about prisoners voting — prisoners count in the census of where they are incarcerated but can’t vote means more money for rural areas with prisons ... kind of like how it worked when there was slavery

Kind of makes you wonder huh? The guy was in his 50s. He was older then than I am now — I will be 50 next Saturday. You would think he would have had a mature moral psychology by that time. 1/2

The same 8th Amendment of the US Constitution that was there in 1789 was there in 1994. It banned cruel and unusual punishment. If folks in the 18th century had evolved enough to not be cruel to prisoners, what’s Biden’s excuse?

Easy to pick on past comments. A learning curve is expected, we didn’t foresee this problem back then and what matters is attitude going forward. Clearly, if he said something bad like Trump on the Access Hollywood tape, then that’s another story

I support Biden. Crime bill tragically flawed, yes. But I remember what our communities endured. Gangs owned city blocks. Pre-school children trained to hit ground when they heard gunfire. A woman slept in bathtub, with her child, while gangs warred around her house. After bill?pic.twitter.com/HIPcANPrkV

Yes, crime was bad. It still is though, even after all this time with the bill in effect. The answer wasn't a three strikes which btw didn't discriminate between violent crime & minor offenses as it could have. It was education & jobs. Policy makers know this, knew it back then
