As a friend of #HeatherHeyer when Biden invoked Charlottesville and Heather’s memory during his campaign kick off I was honestly shocked and I felt a lump in my throat because I could hear Heather freaking out in my head. It just wasn’t right.

It was shameless self promotion to use Heather Heyer's name. But I would expect nothing less from @JoeBiden.

If Joe Biden cared so much about the ultra violent right wing #MAGA racists and fascists at Charlottesville invoking that hate march trauma-then where was he when @AOC was attacked all over social media? Where was he when death threats were sent to @RashidaTlaib and @IlhanMN?

If Joe Biden is so concerned about ultra right wing violence, hate and the unjust treatment of human beings in the struggle for equality -where was he and where is he on #Palestinians who suffer violence by a right wing government?

It’s difficult to watch a man who claims and signals morality and ethics from an ivory tower in one direction when the hypocrisy of truth shines a light directly in the faces of all who see as it burns into the souls of those who fight for actual freedom & justice for all.

How dare you use the devastating loss of Heather Heyer to push a couple political talking points. Heather has no voice now, and despicably you use her memory and death as an opportunity to speak for her. I pray her grieving mother never sees this.

This is in response to Joe Biden evoking her memory, without even bothering to mention her name, in his campaign kickoff video.. He didn't ask her mother either. He used her as a political prop. We are defending her, and what she believed in, and worked for.

I wish Biden had spoken to Heyer's mother first. However, if you read any of the articles about this, you will find that you, right now, are taking it a step further by specifically invoking Heyer's name for a political purpose. It's very exploitative.

Here’s my take: first what happened to Heather Heyer at C’ville was terrible, full stop. Second, the events at C’ville were much bigger and directed at many more people. We can’t overlook that.
