None of the Dem healthcare platforms leave anything solely to private insurance as a solution. Putting up 70 something year old white men will only be a winning strategy for Reps this round. If Dems do it too, 45 will be re-elected IMO. Will revisit this exchange next yr and see!

People shouldn't vote for diversity they should vote for their best interests, their policies not the color of their skin or their ethnic origin. Trump can't win to most of the candidates anyway. Bernie could definitely beat him, he has the youth vote like it's no one's business

Definitely agree ppl SHOULD but the prob is they don’t which is why we are where we are now. Policy platforms are great but lawmaking via Congress is the reality. We won’t have a public-only healthcare system in the next several decades no matter how much some may want it.

And unfortunately Bernie doesn’t have or command much influence over his Congrssional peers that would help make his policy ideas a reality. I’d vote for him if he were the nominee but the Trump machine with their smart and scary marketing would win. Bernie’s shot was 2016.

I remember him during the primaries in 2015-16 consistently saying “ Trump is the god given gift to Democrats, if he will be their nominee.” He is a short sighted politician with deep rooted connections to establishment of Wall Streets and hedge funds of big corporations.
