Joe Biden is the only Democrat presumably running for President that still supports the death penalty.

This is very divisive
-
Yes it is. Why all the hate against Biden? Any Democratic candidate would be better than the disaster we have now.
-
Because we want the legalization of marijuana, we want people with a spine that stand up for minorities being attacked.
-
It’s also a primary and that’s when you evaluate where they stand on issues. Why is this so hard to understand? “Don’t critique a candidate blah blah blah” It’s a primary!

-
Biden hasn’t even announced he is running yet. And most of us critique candidates. Last time around, I was for Bernie, but when he wasn’t nominated, it wasn’t Bernie or bust for me like it was for some supporters because I felt HRC would be better than what we have now.
-
If Biden is included in almost every major poll, and he is, he is open to critiquing. Doesn’t matter if he hasn’t announced. He has spoken hypothetically about running, so he’s open to critiquing. The former VP doesn’t get to stay in the shadows.

Did we not learn anything from the last election, that the internal firing squad doesn’t work and leaves our candidate damaged beyond repair come the general election? We get it that Biden isn’t your favorite but if the ultimate goal is to beat Trump, this doesn’t help.
-
That's the problem. Ppl like Shaun were Bernie or bust ppl in 2016 and are acting the same way now. We haven't even made it to the debate stage yet. I want the best candidate to win. Blind loyalty to Bernie does nobody any good
-
I hate to think they want 4 more years of this admin, but circling the Dem candidates and opening fire is a sure way to make that happen. Makes me tired. So very tired.
-
That's my point exactly, Tina. It literally serves ZERO purpose. I mean, there's so little difference between the Dem candidates and defeating Trump has to be goal #1! Folks can focus on who they prefer but be ready to vote for whoever the eventual candidate is.

But Bernie isn’t it for 2020 either honestly. I mean if he gets the nomination I’ll vote for him but there is no way he gets my vote in a primary. & if he goes Independent and splits the vote he will never be forgiven.
-
He didn’t run independently in 2016 and he won’t in 2020 either as both times he pledged to support whoever is the nominee.
-
Well that’s good to know. I just didn’t know if he was jaded from getting screwed over by the DNC in 2016 so was going to do it his own way this year.
-
Well now you know.

People have some fantasy they're getting Obama II with Biden. They're not. Biden is a terrible campaigner: no charisma and gaffe prone. He'll lose big time.
-
Also, I'm not in the tank for anyone yet. But I remember Biden's 2008 run for pres and how bad he was at it.
