Trump is responsible for Trump, but I must repeat that once conservatives saw that leading Democrats were willing to bash Ilhan Omar, they smelled blood. And have doubled down every since.

Conservatives LOVE having: A Muslim boogeyman. An immigrant boogeyman. A Black boogeyman. A woman boogeyman. And with Ilhan Omar, they have found a way to get all of this in one package. The attacks aren’t in good faith. Just bigoted and dangerous politics.

Feels like he never really left campaign mode..
-
Campaigning was fun, presidenting is the hardest six hours a week he has ever worked.
-
Six hours might be generous.

The fact that his base was large enough to actually elect him kinda rattles my confidence in this country
-
Not mine. I've always known the majority of white ppl held these beliefs. His popularity with them just reinforces it.

Did he ever really leave ‘campaign mode’? Watching from
looks like his whole administration has been one long campaign rant via Twitter, Fox & rally
he brings out the very worst in human nature. Despicable example of a man, let alone a leader #FakePresidentThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I'm more upset/afriad by the silence and complicity. Too many people are standing by. What will it take?

True, but it’s not a transition. Trump’s always in campaign mode—always fomenting xenophobic fear and hatred.

This is a good fight. Out in the open. Multiracial progressive democracy vs mostly white privileged oligarchy and autocracy. Peacefully, powerfully, with dignity.

He was actually way more closeted on his rise to power. A lot of people thought he was a sane "option" after Bernie was off the table. I don't think this shit is going to work well this time. His "base" is small, though I'm sure voter suppression and fraud is the main gop plan.
-
He was only "closeted" to the already blind. There's NOTHING closeted about racism, bigotry & misogyny to those impacted by it daily. Good, decent people resist such lack of humanity towards others. At least there're now 70% who do. Numbers were much smaller before him
