He was asked about it in a town hall that I saw replayed on Youtube (can't find the video right now, but it was a white male that stood up and asked him about it)...
@PeteButtigieg basically said that he was told the FBI was investigating the police chief for (1/2) -
Illegal wiretapping, but that he couldn't listen to the tapes because that would mean that he would be listening to illegal wiretaps. So he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
