I’ve critiqued @AoDespair’s “The Wire” on account of it not addressing WHY Black communities in Baltimore were in those conditions.
But
thing the show NAILS is how The Game is not just on the streets but in city hall & corporate boardrooms. It’s real estate, land, development.

What the UMMS corruption scandal is laying bare for all to see is how The Game in Baltimore really works. Because corporate entities steer policies and laws in their favor, Black
neighborhoods don’t get resources they need. They suffer and people fight over crumbs to survive.2 replies 7 retweets 32 likesShow this thread -
I do believe that the mini-series Show Me a Hero complements The Wire and shows how racist people & policies helped create the redlined Black communities that were intentionally deemed to be places where lower income Black folks would be concentrated, i.e. concentrated poverty.

Whatever you believe about street violence in Baltimore, trust and believe the biggest players in The Game in Baltimore are wearing business suits and professional attire. The biggest players are in corporate boardrooms and run wealthy corporations. Most other folks are pawns.
