Our 28,000+ members told us that they wanted http://TheNorthStar.com to be a "hate-free" platform where they could read, comment, dialogue and learn without it feeling like the YouTube comments section. To do that, it requires that we do EVERYTHING differently. And we do.
At @TheNorthStar we now have 22 full-time staff members and they are the most brilliant staff I've ever worked with in my life.
Our staff are over 70% women - and the majority of our staff are women of color - including our Editor in Chief, Dr. @KeishaBlain, our COO, and more.
Today, a completed fabricated report was issued stating that @TheNorthStar was not launching and that we had fired all of our employees.
Both are completely false.
We launched on February 14th and have a thriving staff.
