Candidates for 2020 have to be able to thoughtfully look back at 2016 and say, "You know what, in retrospect, (FILL IN THE BLANK) could've been done better or different - and here's how I'm going to do that" without getting slammed by former campaign staffers for Hillary.

Look at this. It’s like...junior high school. I mean, even by high school, most of us grew out of this phase. And worst of all, their outrage is based on a pull quote screenshot. Nobody even read the interview to get the context. We’re doomed.https://twitter.com/tomwatson/status/1108394610785701888?s=21 …

Don't give this airtime. It's not helpful and really not that important.
-
It is important to me because it’s about a candidate I like. It bothers me because if nothing else, two years of Trump should, at the very least, show us what NOT to do this time around.
-
I respect your feelings. I liked her too. But I think Pete is just aiming to learn from past. She did lose-so she didn’t do everything right. It’s so important that Dems get one thing: there’s no “perfect.” Whoever is nominated will be flawed but we must love him/her regardless.
-
He really explains this fully in the last 10 minutes of Preet's podcast. We keep doing the same thing over and over... 00, 04, then '16... and losing. Great candidates, top notch... but the error is in the approach. ~ 54:00-1:02:00, the blue dot slideshttps://www.stitcher.com/podcast/wnyc/stay-tuned-with-preet/e/59269733 …

Yes, thank you!! People accusing him of throwing Hillary or her supporters under the bus haven’t taken the time to really listen to him. If we only focus on external causes for the loss, and don’t reflect on what we can change, were bound to lose again.

It was literally the most softball answer to an obviously terrible campaign

There are critiques and I don’t really care about them because I’m not in this for political strategy. I care about issues. That being said, one major issue is the whole electoral college thing where Hillary won by 3 million votes and still lost anyhow. That needs to be fixed
-
Here’s Pete’s response to eliminating the electoral college.

Agreed. There’s no growth if there can’t be constructive criticism in order to learn from past mistakes, which has to happen.

I knew the honeymoon period for this incredible candidate would be short-lived and the outraged twitter trolls would be coming for him soon. I'm just disappointed it's from people on the same side. But of course, it's 2016 all over again. I'm naive for expecting otherwise.

Folks really need to quit living in the past and look to the future or else it'll be four more years of The Donald.

I know! I saw some people LOSING IT and I was like? WHAT? We must be able to freely discuss strategy, what worked, what didn't. And most of all, WE CANNOT AFFORD TO TEAR EACH OTHER DOWN IN THIS PRIMARY!!!
-
Agree! Ultimately we need 2 understand that Where there is unity there is always victory. Publilius Syrus All
@HouseDemocrats@SenateDems@TheDemCoalition@justicedems@DemGovs@OurRevolution need 2 heed this advice, especially for 2020 elections!

Since we know the election was tampered with, we honestly don’t know what the outcome would have been .

People who wanted to run in 2020 should’ve been out holding TownHalls addressing their policy platforms; they should have shown up at the marches. They should’ve been marching with the teachers. Then they’d have something to show the voters what they’ve been doing since ‘16
