The NYC Hospital Alliance's claims are horse shit. In CA nurses get max 6 patients on the floor, 4 in the ED, and 2 in ICU, and none of the calamities they claim have come to pass. It's only greed and profit margins that keep them from agreeing to ratios.pic.twitter.com/NA4H8WjhTz

Not for profit hospitals have <2% margins. Greed isn't a logical explanation here. I hope the nurses get all the pay and benefit increases they are asking for, but fixed staffing ratios are not a good idea.https://www.hfma.org/Content.aspx?id=61787 …

Not for profits also buy unnecessary equipment, tools, and other things to keep their profit margin <2%.
