It's now been a month since the North Star's "launch date" & there is yet to be any public accountability/explanation about why they haven't kept the promises they made in the fundraising campaign. Their social media is dark. They pull in $ every day in Frederick Douglass's name.
Hello Hannah. We've now published 94 articles and have hired 23 full time staffers - including 5 Senior Writers, 5 Seniors Editors, and more. We've released the first 6 episodes of our podcasts, have built our first television studio, are building our podcasting studio.
I think members need more communication from the north star staff - launching something like this is big, & everyone understands bumps in the road. But it's worth letting folks know why some things are taking longer than originally promised. Transparency always helps.
