I know it's been 48 hours since a white supremacist Islamophobe murdered 49 people, and in our modern culture, that's now the social media equivalent of 2 months, but I need to remind us of something. Two days ago a man murdered 49 people and said Trump was his cultural hero.
72 hours ago the President of the United States bragged that his base of supporters, including white biker gangs, cops, and the military were calm now, but were fully ready and willing to get violent if he needed them to. No modern President has ever made such a public threat.
24 hours ago a reporter asked Donald Trump if white supremacist violence was a growing problem in the United States and around the world. Trump boldly and clearly said "No." White supremacist violence grew by 182% LAST YEAR alone in the United States. And Trump said no.
Do not allow the normal passage of time to normalize the overt bigotry and existential threat of Donald Trump. The past 72 hours have been 3 of the most dangerous and bigoted days of his entire presidency from his veto of Congress for a bigoted wall on down.
Trump said "best wishes" as if the Muslims murdered bought a house or something.
That struck me straight away and it aptly portrays his endless lack of humanity 
. Hatred begets hatred and everyone needs to take a stand against bigotry, racism etc. anytime they encounter it because that's the only way those emboldened by Trump and his ilk will be defeated 
It was also a testament to his lack of sincerity. Every time there is a situation calling for compassion or sympathy, he tweets something so inappropriate. Most times it's actually cringeworthy.
@hopenothate reported in the past hour that the NZ Embassy is the scene of a counter protest while a vigil for the victims is being held. The white supremacists are there to let us know they are feeling pretty bold now.
On a plus note NZ acted swiftly and have now banned semi automatic weapons..
And great to see your PM take all questions, give answers not slogans. Too much good in NZ for that to win.
The far right is on the march and it needs to be stopped. We fought in World War 2 to stop the Nazis and lost millions of lives. First Trump needs to be removed.
