Today, California Governor @GavinNewsom gave, off the top of his head, one of the most thorough, beautiful, reflective, compassionate, heroic speeches ever given by a governor against the barbarism and bigotry of the death penalty.
And then brought it to an end.
Grateful.

I will say this about the death penalty! If someone killed the most important person in your life (kids, wife, family,etc) and they gave you the button to push to end that person,Let me know how you feel at that point. Loved the speech and Gavin but there is another side.
