As a parent in the process of preparing a child for the SAT with tutors ect., that story of college admission/SAT scams makes my stomach churn. You try hard-the right way and there are folks who don’t belong and get in illegally. Sickening!
Same here. We’ve pinched pennies and our daughter has worked around the clock for years to get better at the SAT and then we see this. Disgusting.

Unfortunately some of us can't afford to pay for these types of course preps so this makes us double mad.

The fact that there are all of these tutors and prep classes is just another way children of means have a head start. I'm not questioning doing that when you can afford it, but so many families can't. It's a mess.

Children of means? You do realize that they have social programs that help with that as well? Be careful with what you say.

Hmmmm. Ask the question to non weathly parents who don't qualify for lowered college admission standards but can't afford college. As IF college was the end all be all for the measure of ones potential anyway. Selective outrage at its finest!!

My daughter just finished a $1700 Kaplan course for GRE for grad school. Tutors, Saturday classes for 8 weeks, etc. We are praying she gets accepted! Would never consider buying more than this to secure her acceptance!
