Surprised you’ve never heard of the “second bill of rights”. Proposed by FDR in the late part of last term. He died just about 1 year after this speech. Every American should google FDR second bill of rights.

Bernie skipped a couple of FDR's economic rights from that speech. The rights of farmers and businesspeople.https://fdrlibrary.org/address-text

Adam Smith: Simple monopolies (the stuff that all businesses rely upon) should be publicly owned so as to bring down the costs of doing business for the many, not just the few

I wept-prayed at the graves of Eleanor and Franklin in Hyde Park last fall, thinking of what had become of their legacy. Response: Team Bernie.

Did you see the video where FDR placed American citizens in internment camps during WWII?
-
Not FDR's finest moment, but also doesn't negate FDR's 2nd Bill of Rights.
-
All are nice, but NONE are part if the real Bill of Rights. None are part of the US Constitution.
-
Doesn't have to be. Not all rights are in the Constitution. The IX amendment makes it clear that there exist rights that are not specifically enumerated in the Constitution.
-
The Bill of Rights restrict the power of the government, not expand it. It protects the citizens from the overstepping of the government. FDR's 2nd bill is a great example of the government overstepping.
