Good luck with that! You're talking about the guy that couldn't control his county jail and had detainees die on his watch. Couldn't win the mayor position, so found another way to assume power.

All private prisons have an occupation clause in their contracts, the State guarantees the prison company that they will keep their cells filled to a certain amount (usually around 90%) as the prison companies income is on 'per prisoner' billing.
-
It was immediately obvious - and worrying - that with things like marijuana being made legal in so many States, prisoner numbers were going to have to be made up in some other way.

Isn't this the city that just elected like 19 black women judges? Good luck with that prosecution thing.
-
yes, Houston did vote in 19 women judges in November. One of them unfortunetly passed away on Feb 11th, but the
@HarrisCountyDAO is backlogged from Hurricane Harvey cases and needs new DA's..

If crime is going untreated then for sure if there is money the problem should be addressed. Capping budgets to avoid dealing with crime is not an answer to anything more than phonying up with false hope data about how nice your world is. This is a real estate promoters urge.

Yeah right! You can count on him to help with the already ridiculous high incarceration and archaic sentencing. That’s about it.

If it can be agreed upon that this money will be used for programs that help people not re-enter, common sense programs to teach and rebuild then I would agree. Funds need to be allotted with grant funding type vetting. Stop inflicting pain people in need.

Question: Why shouldn’t people be put behind bars? If they do criminal things, then they belong in jail.

If every state would legalize marijuana, as CA, CO Alaska, & 7 other states have people caught with personal use marijuana would not go to jail. Just thinking that would free up allot of jail & prison slots that could few filled with corrupt politicians & other traitors!
