Lobbyists for Israeli interests are among the most effective in the world. They are masterful. They are so good, in fact, that if you dare to critique them, their most ardent supporters will attempt to frame even your most earnest and sincere critiques as bigotry.
I loathe anti-Semistism. I literally track and bring Neo-Nazis to justice as my personal hobby. Simultaneously, I am a public critic of the ultra conservative Trump loving Israeli government and many of their most problematic policies. Both of these can/must co-exist.
You're right. It's just about her being careful with her wording. Talking about Israel means talking about Jews, and saying follow the money without context, which she originally did, isn't wise. The hypnosis tweet from 2012 also isn't a good look, and hurts her here.

To be clear I think she's right about the money and power of AIPAC, and the way they try to silence legitimate criticism of Israel. But treading carefully around anything remotely like ant-semitism is both smart and right, similar to issues of race or gender etc.

Ok. But her tweet. The phrasing was bad. It had dog whistles in it( probably untintentional) it is appropriate to apologize for those whistles and then come back and clarify what she meant to say. If we cannot ask our allies to be better who are we?
