Lobbyists for Israeli interests are among the most effective in the world. They are masterful. They are so good, in fact, that if you dare to critique them, their most ardent supporters will attempt to frame even your most earnest and sincere critiques as bigotry.

I loathe anti-Semistism. I literally track and bring Neo-Nazis to justice as my personal hobby. Simultaneously, I am a public critic of the ultra conservative Trump loving Israeli government and many of their most problematic policies. Both of these can/must co-exist.

To say pro-Israel lobby is ‘effective’ is ok. If
@IlhanMN left it there. She did not. She implied they buy American politicians. That’s blatant racism and Antisemitism, which you are defending and promulgating@shaunking! SHAME on you! -
They do buy American politicians... Just like EVERY OTHER LOBBYING INTEREST DOES... AIPAC just happens to have bipartisan support...

I’m a Jew and take issue with many Israeli policies and blind support for them. You can say all of what you just said without tweeting an anti-Semitic trope, “It’s all about the benjamins.” Netanyahu aside, she knows the implication. Your defense is weak without mention of that.
-
What? "Its all about the benjamins" isn't anti semitic. It's the title of a freaking song and also a movie. Every single thing cannot be anti semantic, damn.
-
A good rule of thumb is comparing the way a Pol treats, say AIPAC, to how they treat other powerful lobbies. Does
@IlhanMN use *money* to explain why the NRA, the Pharmaceutical & Wall St lobby groups are powerful? If yes, then this isn’t an anti-Semitic trope. If no, it is.

As a curious observer of American politics, I always wonder why do presidential candidates appear before AIPAC as part of their election campaign? Seriously, what is THAT about? People who think Israel has no bearing on American politics is deluded
-
They must *kiss the ring* of Israel. It's damn near an instant disqualifier for me.

Some commenters think her use of all about the Benjamins means Netanyahu. They don't realize it means big money.

It's literally a song.

Chelsea Clinton is one of those indicating its anti-Semitic to criticize anything connected to Israel I dont get it I also didn't like the Israeli Netflix series - am I anti-Semitic for that?
-
Its because they are protecting a lie. So if your titled for saying anything about whats being covered up and criticize boom its antisemite. The lie cant be allowed to be debated so no one sees the lie therfore it cant even be discussed or their world falls. Its that simple

In the US, despite having a Democratic Representative, & 2 Democratic Senators, I can expect very little criticism of Israeli policies from my government. Not because they are all corrupt, but because a lot of people can't or won't separate Israeli policies from Israel.
-
Israel criticized all the time. Regan, Bush 1, and Obama were all critical of Israel. Clinton was even critical of Israel even though he took a balanced approach. If you’re in CA (two Dems) Feinstein has been critical of Israel. List goes on and on ...
-
Netanyahu's response to President Obama's criticism was to come play with the Republicans, & work against him, because Obama threatened some of the funding. Few politicians will do that.
