Talking about context vs an impression based on a quote. It’s clear from the press conference this morning that she takes the issue and the process in place to address it seriously. Please watch that. Also she has a different role. We have real enemies. She’s not one of them.

Are people still not woke to the fact that Pelosi is a shill? She is speaker because she can raise the most money for the corporate democrats and clearly has no progressive agendas and should have been voted out long ago.

Totally raises the most money. I mean, something like $130 million for the midterms, more than half the DNC money. Which was spread around to fund campaigns....that lead to the massive Blue Wave .... so now we can talk about New Green Deals .... yeah, what a monster!!!

She’s already stated - to those donors - that the Dems will not be pushing Medicare for all. Even though more than 70% of Americans are for it and the Dems are campaigning for it. All she does is keep the status quo in place. That’s not good for us.

So, the House isn't going to waste time developing and passing the sort of legislative reform we haven't seen in decades in which there would be no cooperation from the Senate or WH and no chance of it passing either ..... damn her!!

You guys kill me how fast you turn...who cares if she mocks the name. Look at the platform and policies that she has adopted. Those are progressive...with climate change being front and center. There is the green new deal and other proposal that will get discussed as she promised

This, actually, is a more fair take on Pelosi's attitude about tackling climate change than the click-bait headline. (Based on a real and, IMO, not smart quote.) There is, of course, more nuance in the article.

She actually didn’t, but when you’re always looking for something to criticize, it’s easy to find something to twist to fit your view. Without Green New Deal legislation, those 90 congresspeople support the idea of the now-undefined GND, without knowing exactly what it is.

She actually did denigrate it. She has her rea$on$. She doesn’t get the sense of actual urgency or she would have called it by its name, which she must know by now. And she would have spoken of it first. #GreenNewDeal

The GND means vast amounts of current and future money taken from consumers and businesses and redistributed to Congressional cronies. Who will ensure pols who push GND get their "fair" share in-kind or indirectly. That's how corrupt govt works and the most corrupt is socialist.

Seems a little conspiracy theory-ish. The Green New Deal is one of the few tools that actually creates sustainable jobs, works towards a healthier planet. The “socialist” aspect is putting power and money back into the hands of the people. It’s our oligarchy that’s corrupt.

Agree our government is corrupt. That does not make socialist govt the answer. There's five socialist nations: China, Cuba, Laos, Viet Nam. N. Korea, some others are stage 2 = communist. China is most socialist with Communist top layer, capitalist economy. What is AOC model?
