I’m from Houston, which for many years sent more people to death row than almost every other state - until TX finally gave juries the option of life w/o parole. disappointing that Ogg, a Dem, is reverting back to the old GOP DAs like Holmes & Rosenthal.

Having done criminal defense, truth is most DAs, even Dems, are career prosecutors with hammers, seeing every defendant as a nail to be bludgeoned. Death penalty has gone down here but we’re still overcharging crimes way too much.

We elected Kim because she's supposed to be Progressive. Harris County Commissioners Court has been spending close to a billion dollars a year on courts and cops and jails. Yet only 100 million on all community services for the whole County. Lena is right and Kim is wrong.
