I’ve said this for at LEAST two decades now: Virginia is THE most racist “northern state” south of the Mason–Dixon line. Been borne out by verified anecdotal stories about the police, and now their state’s leader, Gov. Al Jolson.

Periello was my choice during the primaries. In the end, it was an anyone-but-Corey Stewart vote for a lot of us. I am shocked to see this. I doesn't track with what I've seen from him. I do love Justin Fairfax. I had hoped he would be our next gov, but not this way...

Yup, I supported Perriello in the primaries as well, but will always vote for the Dem nominee (especially when their opponent is a proud racist). This doesn’t line up with the Northam I know either-who’s done a lot of good in both his medical & political career. This is shocking.

My office worked w/ him at the Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics, while he was Lt. Gov. He was one of the physician volunteers. We weren't working on the same days, but I heard he was wonderful with the kids & parents. Many of the patients hadn't had regular med care in yrs.
