Shaun the grey pants person looks to have a black build body. Maybe a male and female. These images are not very helpful. Were they speed walking? They knew how to avoid camera's. Why decline additional, free security after the hate mail? And too intrusive is not a good reason..

He could of had them stand down when he wanted privacy. I would have at least allowed them to walk me home at night. Seems very odd to be random. I say it was 100% planned but who and why? Did he piss someone? Owe someone money? Why not call uber? Does he always walk home?

increases the likely hood of the people in the picture to come forward with anything they know, increases the likely hood of someone familiar with the individuals going "hey, i know who that is". Doesn't matter if it is even the attackers, it is more data for solution

Cold weather clothing makes it impossible to get the true build of the people in the photo. Age is also impossible to tell. But, video would show their walk, mannerisms, etc. Since location is known, someone may recognize them that way? Otherwise, not right to speculate.
