Mitt will still vote for any bill that King introduces.

No flames, good sir; just a warm reminder that Romney is great at sounding tough right up until the GOP wants him to behave badly. Then he loves Trump again. When he states he's in favor of impeachment, I'll call his bluff. Till then? Romney's word doesn't mean much.

If Romney believes King should resign over this shouldn’t he be brave enough to say Trump should resign or be impeached for all he’s said or done and how he’s divided country. Calling for King’s political head won’t expiate sins of Trump and his enabler Republicans.

I’m not sure that I would have used the words “I’m proud.” You can commend his stance without investing self.

No wonder so many think you are fake - he made this comment days after King's comments & only after being repeatedly called out on his silence. Amazing that he could immediately call out Rep Tlaib but this takes days. And then you give him praise. Unbelievable.

As long as you're not duped by someone who does things for appearance sake and one who actually wields a moral compass.

It’s a good response, but he also courted King in 2012 for his Presidential race, since King has lots of clout in Iowa. The silver lining here seems to be that if anything, this sets a precedent for other congress members to see similar consequences for their racism.

So, it’s good, but Romney is no hero. He’s just smart enough to know that he can’t give a weak response.

There’s nothing wrong with the stance but why’d it take so long (and a lot of public outcry) for him to make it? King didn’t just become racist in 2019, dude’s been racist...

They support the same platform. Romney just doesn't like it when they say the quiet parts loud. It makes it harder to strip the country for parts.
