@changethenypd @samswey @nytimes @BilldeBlasio garbage way for Police to deal with people no? Just hitting them, like their bodies can take violence. That other office taking a punk swing from the back is all the proof we need - this city needs better PO's and training.

I think we can all go ahead and agree it’s time to disband the police, as they are far more dangerous and detrimental to society than any criminal would be.

note to civilians who want to join in when cops start a beat down. In a perfect world, Cops have qualified immunity, civilians do not. You will become free win for Prosecutors and will face civil liabilities for the cop and your actions.

When I square up with police in the middle of the street, I make sure to yield once my first rib is broken.

Who were the extra people, not in uniform? The looked like they were causing further harm, while he was on the ground.

The men initially looked like they were in a fighting stance and one of them seemingly assaulted one of the cops. They are ofcrs They should know better, but in the heat of the moment, when u r amped, you wanna inflict harm on the person who harmed/embarassed u
-
It’s almost like officers should be trained to not act on those emotions. I mean it’s not like the public pays their salaries you know?
-
I agree with you and I get your sarcastic response, but that does not negate the fact that the ofcr was assaulted by one of the men. This could have been avoided and thus it will be deemed justified - even the brutal beating after the fact (unfortunately).
-
It would have been deemed "justified" if the men had been standing perfectly still and silent before the NYPD beat them. You do live in the United States, yes?
-
With the video evidence, it would have been much more difficult to do so - the outrage would be warranted and put pressure on the powers that be and even if a grand jury elected to not indict, they would have prevailed civilly.
