As a white man, please quantify "regularly." I want to go forth with a foundational view of my own statistical predisposition toward this behavior. Then, also, please quantify "seldom" so I can then assess the frequency with which you tweet anything of value. Thanks.

Can you at least say SOME white men? I don’t generalize people of ANY color. I know black men who were in gangs, I knew a black man who owned a snake and played piano, I know a black man who is a gay preacher that works on a farm. We’re all a spectrum.
-
Interesting use of the plural form of "man" solely for the mention of gang membership.
-
Well, considering I’ve never met a woman who was in a gang it checks out.
-
I wasn't referring to gender.
-
Because I used man for the other examples? If so, it’s because I know multiple men who were in gangs. But I only know one black gay preacher who worked on a farm. You don’t come across too many of those in a lifetime.
-
Originally, you ask for an end to generalization. This was followed by an example that seemed to generalize black men in a way that fits a stereotype. As you put it, you happen to know multiple black men in gangs (general) and only one that you get oddly specific about.
-
Jesus. The point was spectrum. Just like there are white men in gangs, white men who like snakes and play piano and I’m sure there is a gay white preacher that works on a farm. Shaun was generalizing and I was pointing out that there is a spectrum with black and white men.
-
I got the point. It's truly not a complex idea that diversity exists between & within groups. I point your use of language out because 1) it's a common use of deflection & 2) you end up generalizing by identifying spectrum consisting of gang members (again, plural)

I'm not infuriated. People that start fights shouldn't be surprised when they find themselves in one!

It’s assault no matter what the skin color is. The police started it by striking the black guy first. Being noisy does not justify them retaliating by physically attacking them. I’m white and I agree it’s wrong but I also agree it’s wrong of you labeling white men.
