BREAKING: Two men that I reported to @SheriffEd_HCSO on this past Thursday have been arrested and charged with the capital murder of Jazmine Barnes.
Names: Larry Woodruffe and Eric Black
It took us from Thursday to Sunday to truly understand this case.
I am told that Larry Woodruffe and Eric Black Jr. shot & killed Jazmine Barnes in drive by shooting, believing they were shooting someone else from a rival gang that had nothing to do with Jazmine Barnes. We have also learned where the white suspect in the red truck came from.
After Woodruff & Black shot & killed Jazmine Barnes, 4 credible independent eyewitnesses heard the shooting and saw a white man in a red truck speed off. It appears that man was an innocent bystander who fled, actually fearing for his life as well. He was not the shooter.
Jazmine, her mother, and her siblings were innocent victims of this shooting. For them, it was truly an awful random act of violence.

Do we still think this was racially motivated??? This is why there is a divide in our society. There was a rush to judgment w/o presenting any accurate facts. We all need to do better.
The fact that a journalist & team of people had to get involved in a public campaign to identify the truth about the murder of a child of colour is already speaking volumes, regardless of the perpetrators. Don't try to claim this as a point for 'racism is exaggerated' please.

Thank you! I truly did not care if the villain was white, black, blue or from the moon, what I cared and continue to care about, is that an innocent 7yr old was murdered! Evil is evil! I pray that this family finds closure and are allowed to mourn this senseless act of evil.
Unfortunately people like Shaun King DO care what color someone is. This was far more profitable for him when the suspect was a white guy.
Shaun shared what he’d been told and updated his readers as soon as he learned more. In light of this tragedy, yours was a shitty, callous and untrue assertion to make.

All I can think about with this how many people are in jail simply based on eyewitness testimony.

I wanted an edit function then realized why there is none. A poster could change their post after comments are made. If you are the commenter- suddenly you might be endorsing or speaking against something entirely different than intended.
I think a 2 minute period to edit makes sense. It would change how people tweet, encouraging people to take advantage of that two minutes to edit.
