In a partial government shutdown, Secret Service should only agree to keep Trump in locations for essential government services. So no Mar-a-Lago, no campaign stops. Just quarantined in the White House or Capital Hill until the shutdown is over.

A huge amount of rentals are corporate owned complexes with maintenance staff. Don't think they're going to let anyone work off rent either!

The timing couldn’t be any worse. Imagine you pay your mortgage in December and budgeted to travel and then family plannings and gifts etc thinking that next check should come in time to pay the mortgage by the 1st. To only learn “yeah you won’t get that money but you can paint”

Easier said than done. December is a high expense month and some folks have families emergencies that they have to take care of. And some folks do live paycheck to paycheck, and given that if they’re not receiving their next checks that can have a big impact.
