1. I’m a Bernie guy - an alum of his campaign. I’m a fellow at the Sanders Institute. He’s my hero. Attacking Beto is counterproductive. Examine Beto’s record, that’s fine, but that goes both ways. EVERY candidate will have had bad votes, including Bernie.

If you examine his record, and it’s problematic, it’s going to draw criticism, which bad faith actors will call an “attack.” It’s not. I have yet to see Beto weather anything close to attacks levied against Sanders by the mainstream media for 3 years.

Honest question. Do you think I don't know the difference between a policy critique and an attack? Because I do. Some critiques have now devolved into something far uglier. I've seen and experienced them. People calling me a sellout just for saying Beto should run.

Yet here you are attacking the leftists who dared to look at Beto’s votes and voice policy critique. Evidently not saying a word about the harassment @davidsirota had to endure not just from anonymous trolls, but the establishment figures. You picked your side.

If you're using the same language of respectability as the white supremacists who don't miss a beat to shut us up with calls for civility, it is you who is toxic. This entire thread you posted is toxic to Black and Brown lives and those who are affected by Beto's politics.
