1. I’m a Bernie guy - an alum of his campaign. I’m a fellow at the Sanders Institute. He’s my hero. Attacking Beto is counterproductive. Examine Beto’s record, that’s fine, but that goes both ways. EVERY candidate will have had bad votes, including Bernie.

If you examine his record, and it’s problematic, it’s going to draw criticism, which bad faith actors will call an “attack.” It’s not. I have yet to see Beto weather anything close to attacks levied against Sanders by the mainstream media for 3 years.

Honest question. Do you think I don't know the difference between a policy critique and an attack? Because I do. Some critiques have now devolved into something far uglier. I've seen and experienced them. People calling me a sellout just for saying Beto should run.

Yet here you are attacking the leftists who dared to look at Beto’s votes and voice policy critique. Evidently not saying a word about the harassment
@davidsirota had to endure not just from anonymous trolls, but the establishment figures. You picked your side.3 replies 9 retweets 42 likes -

People's feelings matter more than actual policies that have a material effect on the lives of people. "Don't bring up my record and stop calling me names, please." What's up with all this respectability shit? That's some white supremacist trash.

I don't believe that whatsoever. People's feelings aren't what I am concerned about here. The fact that you are now reducing my words to "white supremacist trash" shows me that this conversation has devolved into something toxic and disconcerting.

If you're using the same language of respectability as the white supremacists who don't miss a beat to shut us up with calls for civility, it is you who is toxic. This entire thread you posted is toxic to Black and Brown lives and those who are affected by Beto's politics.

Let's be specific. Which specific words that I said are toxic white supremacy?

The respectability card you just pulled to shut down any sort of valid critique or response to a man who has a shitty record with us. Policing us for that is mighty white supremacist. It's what white people do. They don't like the language or protesting or calling people names.

Did you read the whole thread or not? I openly said "We can critique records, we can ask questions, and can do so publicly, but when it bleeds over into demonization or destructive conversation, you are doing more harm than good."https://twitter.com/shaunking/status/1077246669819953152 …
