2. Not a single person is going to run in 2020 that hasn’t had bad votes, bad quotes, bad positions, or supported something that doesn’t match your full ideology. This includes Beto, but also includes Bernie, Biden, Kamala, Booker, and every other candidate.

3. We can critique records, we can ask questions, and can do so publicly, but when it bleeds over into demonization or destructive conversation, you are doing more harm than good. None of these candidates will be flawless. None of them. We can’t tear each other apart. Can’t.

4. Beto took these past few weeks off to be with his family. He’s made that very clear. He deserved that space. He campaigned his ass off for two straight years. He appears to have even asked his team to just stand down and not even respond to the attacks.

5. If you see yourself as a Bernie supporter, as do I, I’m telling you now that you are doing Bernie harm if you go in full attack mode against Beto or other candidates before they even announce. It turns off potential voters and partners. I see it happening. //End of Thread

If you examine his record, and it’s problematic, it’s going to draw criticism, which bad faith actors will call an “attack.” It’s not. I have yet to see Beto weather anything close to attacks levied against Sanders by the mainstream media for 3 years.
-
Honest question. Do you think I don't know the difference between a policy critique and an attack? Because I do. Some critiques have now devolved into something far uglier. I've seen and experienced them. People calling me a sellout just for saying Beto should run.
-
Of course I think you do. I didn’t mean to be patronizing. And I don’t agree w folks who’ve called you “sell out” etc. I was just pointing out that I haven’t seen any bad faith Beto critique, & the focus here is ironic given all the bad faith Sanders and his supporters endure.
-
I'm confused. Where are all these attacks on Bernie from the Media? The media and his supporters have all but declared him the savior of the Democrats-(which he doesn't even belong to & demonizes every chance he gets) Serious question though- what attacks?
-
These all took place in 24 hours in March 2016. Since the presidential run, he’s mostly been ignored, since there’s no reason to cover him.pic.twitter.com/eTXC9bfQvp

You call these attacks?

reporting what he says or his position on the issues? Seriously? Jesus take the wheel! Look up HRC & PBO and learn what an attack truly is. #jeez if these are attacks to you then real attacks is going to blow your mind!!

-
HRC was attacked, and more heavily than Bernie was. Doesn’t mean those articles weren’t attacks though.

But that’s it, We’re just literally looking at his record and not liking what we see.
-
I believe YOU Jeff. That’s not what everybody is doing

Thank you!

Beto will be another Obama. Great speeches, great benefits for Wall Street and the donor class.
-
I thought he didn't take PAC money for his Senate bid. Do you have any info that if he decides to run, he will take PAC money?
-
He did not take PAC money but he did take individual donations from e executives and employees in the fossil fuel industry. Those executive donations violated his no fossil fuel money pledge as reported.
-
No pledge as reported. I personally just donate 100k to politicians as a favor to them, never would I attach any strings. Never.
