The first debates in the Democratic Presidential Primaries are in 6 months. That’s nothing. Anybody that tells you it’s too early to be talking about candidates either doesn’t understand the process or deliberately doesn’t want you to be a part of it.
HUGE decisions are being made this week and next by about 35 different leaders and politicians considering running for the Democratic nomination. They are hiring staff. They are recruiting their teams. They are building their websites and political platforms. It’s near.
But...but...but, I'm still so exhausted from 2016! Which is still playing out for way too many people.
The time to prepare is NOW.
Think outside box. 2020 Dem ticket w Gen Mattis/ Stacey Abrams or Mayor Gillum or Beto O'rourke wld have us glued to TV w lots of popcorn. Mattis has gravitas to Trump's lack; he has respect from leaders around the world where he could do a lot of healing. VPs wld add excitement.

For a start, how about solid, realistic plans to bring back the Voters Rights Act and smashing every tactic the Republicans have used to suppress votes by POC? (Just a suggestion from a white chick)

We the public should be building consensus on the goals we expect the country to achieve and force the candidates to explain the platform they will take to achieve those goals.
Who will we choose Blue Wave? The DEMs have work to do. Free college. Affordable housing. 17.00 min wage. Legalize recreational weed nation wide. (New tax revenue)?
Question: Can they come up with one consistent message other than, "We are better than him" or "At least we are not him"?
Can we make some conditions non-negotiable for candidates? Geography, civics & spelling knowledge. Deep, deep, background check including ties to foreign countries and lobbies, mental and physical health, financials, social media examined, and EVERYTHING fact-checked & published
