Never make the people you love the most guess how you feel about them. Tell them with your words. Show them with your actions. Laugh with them. Tell stories with them that only they know. Hug them with meaning. Tell them you missed them. Get them gifts. Surprise them.

Bless you my brother. I know exactly how you feel. Lost my brother last year and the void is real, that pain persistent, the grief unrelenting, but the hope unyielding. Love you man! Hang in there!

Except when that family is abusive and toxic. In that situation you are better off giving yourself and others that love. Actually if you don't show yourself that love and walk away then you are letting the family abuse continue into the coming generations.

Thank you, I usually dread being around my in-laws but you are 100% correct. I get to hug my mother-in-law tonight and wish her a Merry Christmas. May you find comfort this Holiday Season.

That depends on your family, doesn't it? I gave my brother every possible chance. He's an abusive sociopath whom I no longer care about even a little. My life is far better for his absence.

IMO, family is what you make. Doesn’t have to be blood. Family by choice is just as important, sometimes moreso.

Love and peace to you and all the families missing their loved ones. My first Christmas without my brother Tony. There's happiness and sadness whenever we have that 1st special occasion without someone we love. We're going to get through this & those memories will sustain us.

This message couldn’t have come at a better time. I just found out a coworker passed last night. While she wasn’t a family member, she was a part of my everyday life. I just keep thinking about our last conversation wishing I had known it was the last.
