Actually everything in the article regarding on the field was spot on. He had great moments, but as a day to day player he made plays that cost them baseball games. I loved watching him because how exciting he could be, but as far as a baseball move the Dodgers got better
The Dodgers only got better if this is a precursor to a bigger move. If they do this and Chris Taylor is in RF next year and there’s no Kluber or Bryce, that’s them being cheap.
It’s not like Puig was Piazza
No, but Puig is better than Taylor, Peterson, Toles, Verdugo, and Hernandez. So yeah, getting rid of him makes the team worse unless they pick up some talent via the trade market
The Reds did not want any of those players. This is how trades work. Plus, after this season Puig would become overpriced.
I never said that they wanted any of those players, although, I had heard that the Reds really liked Chris Taylor a lot. What I was referencing was that you said the Dodgers got better by trading him when he was clearly their best outfielder, offensively and defensively.
Cody Bellinger is their best OF. Puig was a platoon guy, who gave at bats away, missed the cutoff man countless times, ran into outs...he’s also soon to be out of team control and will cost $15 million +. They are building a team. He was fun but they are better.
Cody Bellinger is a first baseman, not an outfielder. Puig is a natural right fielder who had to platoon, just like Bellinger did as well. Your arguments aren’t that great chief. Yes, he ran into a lot of outs, but so do lost young players (not all).
Pump the breaks! If the dodgers don’t get Harper and Kluber from the @Indians then it’s BS.
