This same ref, Alan Maloney, called a grown ass Black man, a ref, a nigger last year and got his ass whooped over it. Shame on New Jersey for allowing him to stay in this profession. Parents all over the state emailed me this morning about his bigotry http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/-7382124375202754705/well-known-wrestling-ref-used-racial-slur-at-social-gathering-report-says/ …

Every adult in that space with any authority should be disciplined. This is disgusting.
-
Where’s the coach? Where’s the school administrator who was likely at the match? Where’s the OTHER team’s coach?
-
Supposedly both coaches argued for several minutes with the Ref. Not hard enough obviously.
-
They should have refused. No win could be worth it. Forfeit the game. Every adult that let this happen failed their duty to protect. This is disgusting.
-
Besides team aspect, which runs strong w/most athletes, this match could have impacted his record thereby impacting his shot at a scholarship. The hs socio fallout couldve been enough to proceed. So many things. Has the kid spoken? The lack of outcry by adults is maddening.
-
The child did what he was instructed to do.I don't give a damn if he was planning a haircut. No one should be in this situation.

This is despicable but that kid winning is testament to the indefatigable spirit that put him on that mat in the first place.
-
no. his spirit was manipulated and assaulted. watch his body language. adults hold the responsibility for this.
-
I agree that you can see it written all over him. Like someone else said, it was a violation of his body just the same as an assault. He'll carry the scars of humiliation for a long time. This is just heartbreaking.
-
Yeah, the boy won the match, but he lost a lot more. This is so upsetting. That ref needs to be banned for life. That was a forced assault, plain and simple.

I haven't cut my dreads since I was in Jamaica 25 years ago and the Rastafarians sat me down and told me NEVER CUT YOUR DREADLOCKS. They're not fashion. I'm so sad for him. Cutting dreads is not like a haircut. Some would even see this as blasphemy.pic.twitter.com/s95HWhs8lz

My son’s dreads. I can’t imagine anyone cutting them.pic.twitter.com/Tj272HdH4C

This shattered my heart. His identity is being violated. His whole body language says it all. All these adults around him failed miserably to act with virtue.
-
Nah, he just tired But still that’s weird how everyone acts like it’s ok
-
That is defeat, humiliation and frustration in his face, not physical exhaustion.
