My big criticism with Dems & those on the left: obsessing over/inflating minor things, such as fashion or appearance, about people we hate instead of just focusing on the legitimate reasons we hate them.

Same. It feeds into this idea that those on the left are joyless, sanctimonious hall monitors who get offended by everything. Personally I think there’s more than enough evidence showing this phenomenon is hardly unique to the left but it doesn’t do us any favors to play into it.

The Right are always obsessing over mundane things, but we should expect that: they're conservatives. By their very nature they worry about things that are different and that change.
