There are a lot folks lauding them right now, and for them, your remarks are right on point. For the rest of us, these resignations just make clear what an utter cluster-eff this Administration is and that is legitimately frightening.

Yeah, when the last adults leave the room, even if they are evil, that is telling. They are choosing to give up a lot of power, and the option to continue to be evil, because the person in charge is THAT unhinged. That's the real story here.
-
I agree that is telling indeed. I just reject the notion that they are our friends or heroes of some sort for leaving. Know what I mean?
-
They’re not our “friends” but we have a common interest in not delvolving into a banana republic. If firefighters show up at my house, I’m not gonna ask their political leanings while they put out the flames.

I hear that. Flynn was a horrible bigot, but at least Mattis seemed sane. I fear his replacement will be much worse and just a sycophant who will go along.
-
You don't think Ted Nugent has what it take to serve as Sec of Def? Because that's who's left in the Rolodex.

Agree on Kelly, disagree on Mattis. Mattis has pushed back on every stupid Trump policy he's tried to implement in the military. He defended DACA service members, fought the trans ban, and a few others I am forgetting.
-
Mattis even reversed the transgender ban, so I don’t see it.

We shouldn’t make the perfect the enemy of the good here. Mattis was one of the last adults in the room. We should be worried about his departure.
-
Scott I totally agree! Not good. Probably by far the most respected experienced person in the WH. Very telling sign.

Mattis is a good pick for defense. Its a nightmare that he’s leaving. He was a calm voice for foreign policy

“...for defense”? It’s NEVER defense. Let’s drop the pretense shall we? It’s OFFENSE for profits.pic.twitter.com/p34qMAgC27

Not our friends but we should fear what will happen to the military without Mattis around and God knows who Trump will replace him with. Mattis was respected by the military, experienced, and had world knowledge. Shit is hitting the fan.

Shaun, just stop. The lesser of two evils is what we are experiencing right now. Making that the enemy of perfect is not needed. Mattis has zero to do with public policy. Agree with your shade on Kelly. Let’s band together and try to survive (LITERALLY) until Nov 2020.

Yup literally
