What’s the problem? A death occurred during the commission of a felony. OH doesn’t require mens rea (intent) so the girl ‘s screwed. She should’ve been playing softball or volleyball like normal 16 yr olds, not committing armed robberies. Delete this tweet. It’s embarrassing.

The problem is she didn't kill the guy (cops did) and they are charging her with that. Not saying these kids were saints, but why does she get charged for the murder that a police officer committed?
-
You have to understand that laws are enacted & enforced to maintain a civilized society. Knowing that you could be held liable for murder while engaging in a dangerous felony is supposed to deter ppl from committing crimes. Sad, but ppl have to know there are consequences.
-
I don't think police officers killing people that they entrapped makes for a civilized society.
-
I don’t either but this wasn’t entrapment. Ppl - especially in this thread - are using that word loosely without knowing its actual definition. When the guy pulled a gun on the cop, the cop had the privilege of self defense to shoot him. Those are our laws.
-
At this time we don't know enough details to determine whether it is entrapment. It must be investigated. However, I think morally, the majority of sting operations should really be considered entrapment.https://www.crammlawfirm.com/how-do-the-police-avoid-entrapment-when-conducting-a-sting-operation/ …

Im trying to understand what I read in the story and I don’t understand how the female minor was charged with this. I’m fine with the police setting this up but when it goes wrong and they shoot someone then that’s the end of it.
-
Not everyone knows it, but it is fairly standard. If I were to rob a store and the clerk pulled a gun to defend himself, but shot a bystander and killed them, I could and often would be charged with that death. This depends on locale and the Courts themselves.
-
Yup. The charge is typically known as Felony Murder. The charge can stem from any death that takes place during the commission of any felony.

First of all you setup a minor, then you shot him and change another minor with his murder. What does that have to do with a robbery? Even for the police their has to be an age limit. A child, A baby I hope you feel good about yourself you just killed another black child.

"Police say Tate pulled a gun on an undercover officer, who posed as the buyer, during the meeting. Another officer then opened fire, striking Tate." Reading works.
-
"Police say" Yes, reading DOES work...
-
Also, it's not a "thing" for police to set up a buy so they can execute somebody. They don't win in that case because the knowledge dies with the suspect
-
Uh huh, but it is a "thing" for police to plant a weapon after someone moves or reaches for something that turns out not to be a gun, in order to manufacture a reason to have killed them.

This doesn't seem like it was created from nothing. Normally on your side but this is a pretty misleading post.

I’m all for what you stand for, and stand with you Shaun. And this is devastating to read. But these facts don’t match up to your viewpoint.

Police trick predators and dealers and thieves all the time... it’s a well known practice

It’s called coercion! Supreme Courts have ruled that police can LIE in the commission of there duties. That’s the first sign that the system is rigged. How can justice be fair when the kings men can lie to obtain and arrest or conviction? Justice is the illusion of fairness!
