I don't disagree. I'm having those talks and tweeting at the same time. I am a big advocate of a competitive primary.

No doubt, but I think there’s a fundamental question of what exactly the role and positions of a Democratic President should be that needs to be answered before we start to throw out names. We won’t win if we chase a dream without a plan for what’s possible.

Nah. Think about Trump as a parallel to LBJ (in a bizarro sense) and the ultimate fracturing of Democrats between Civil Rights and the Vietnam War the same way Republicans now are fracturing over free trade and Saudi Arabia. The external factors aside, there’s a case to be made.
