I hope @BetoORourke runs for President.
I truly believe he could win.
I just think the Democratic primaries need the very best we have to offer and he's in that group to me.
Yes, I have a few substantive policy differences w/ Beto, but I believe he'll address them.

2016 already looked a lot like 1968. We can’t afford another milquetoast Democrat. We need authenticity and courage.

I think we need to disabuse ourselves of the idea that Trump will be running again in 2020 and not think that the natural move for the party would be to nominate a reactionary anti-Trump candidate. The question is, who running now can set the party up for the long term?

This is Pew in March ‘15. Bernie begins this cycle at the same recognition as Clinton in 2016. He’s right. There is only one way they stop Bernie’s swell at this point.pic.twitter.com/xX1qdSY7k6

Politically. We’re at an inflection point and I think they Trump may very well not seek re-election. The Republicans now look like the Dems did back then with an unpopular President pushing unpopular policies with the rest of the party stuck carrying the water.

Big oil sure wants another Texas President because that has always worked out so well in the past.
-
Big oil doesn’t want a Democratic President.

Imagine if there was a video of Obama bragging that he made the USA “the biggest oil producer”.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GrLX0t3G9-c …

Big Oil is *fine* with Democrats like Beto and Obama.pic.twitter.com/q3llxoLYp9

It will though. Neoliberals are fighting the left to retain power. Even though we have to go left to stop fascism and climate change. And now you endorse that fight against the left?
-
Seriously. The left candidate is just so obvious. I’ll ultimately vote for whoever wins the primary, but I’m pretty sure I don’t need to say who the most committed (on every issue...though of course flawed) left wing candidate is.
