I think we need to take a step back and figure out what we want out of the next president before we start talking about who should be the next president. Devolving the debate into a battle between personality cults is kinda how we got Trump in the first place.

I don't disagree. I'm having those talks and tweeting at the same time. I am a big advocate of a competitive primary.
-
No doubt, but I think there’s a fundamental question of what exactly the role and positions of a Democratic President should be that needs to be answered before we start to throw out names. We won’t win if we chase a dream without a plan for what’s possible.

This 2020 race will not play by the normal rules though

I have a feeling that 2020 is gonna look a whole lot like 1968.

Don't say that.

If we need the very Best we need Stacey. Beto had to be pushed a lot by folks in TX. Stacey ran a nationwide campaign for a state level race.
-
Oh I agree. I want her in this race.
-
But she’s always an afterthought in these conversations, when strategically and on the issues she’s the best one coming out of election night 2018. Neither Texas nor Florida did what Georgia did.
-
I would so much more support Abrams than Beto. She has the track record to back up her statements.

Please do not fall for this trap. You think he’s a firebrand progressive but look into his voting record. Voted to increase Trump’s military budget 3 times, deregulated Wall Street, and expanded research for offshore drilling.
-
The left has fallen for Beto, trying to champion him as the hot “white Obama” who came out of nowhere on a white stallion to defeat Trump. Remember about the person who has always been fighting for the American people for decades with policy front and center...

centrist liberals have fallen for Beto, the left is correctly skeptical

That's what I like about Shaun... He draws you in and seems okay... And then yet again he jumps off the damn rails... Every Damn Time! No Shaun! Beto won't win against Trump... He couldn't even beat Ted Cruz... Beto O'Rourke is a

Beto couldnt beat Cruz Trump humiliated Cruz Therefore Beto should definitely run for President. He the perfect Democratic Rising Star Candidate. White, male, establishment & willing to pretend a WOC doesn’t exist unless he wants her vote. That’s the Dem strategy. Trump 2.0
