Very sad but doesn’t blame lie with parents/guardians that brought her on this dangerous trip. Easy to use this sad event to score political points but this is something that could have happened under any administration.

If she was in custody, the blame belongs with the border patrol (U.S. government).
-
She was in CBP custody for 8 hours...ever gone 8hrs without water and started having seizures and heart failure? Nope. The father is responsible for her death, and should be charged accordingly.

I'm not a fan of Trump nor detention facilities but she died because she had no water over a period of several days because she was making her way to the US. She was only in US custody for 8 hours when she passed away. She was also given prompt and excellent medical care.
-
Withholding medical care for 8 hours in an emergency situation is neither “prompt” nor “excellent.”
-
There was no withholding of medical care. She presented no symptoms. Perhaps her father or the other 161 adults they were traveling with could have spoken up & mentioned the no food and water for several days.
-
Not rocket science to imagine that they would have been thirsty and hungry. Stop making pathetic excuses, and see it for what it really is, which is indisputable.

WaPo compounds the horror of this incident by stressing she entered "illegally". That's irrelevant. NOTHING would have been "illegal" enough for what essentially resulted in a death penalty as its consequence. The real crime here is that she was incarcerated at all.
-
Did you read the story? They all turned themselves in. She had a temp of 105 shortly after arriving and hadn’t eaten or drank water in days. It’s tragic, not sure about how the outcome could have been different with no fluids in her system for days.
-
There's no time to read the story. They may have learned something before jumping to conclusions. Gotta jump on the hate Trump train whenever they can. Sad....

I’m sick. How do you feel,
@SecNielsen? -
She doesn't give a fig about any of those children.
-
Neither does the parent that thought is was a good idea to march a 7 year old through a desert to get into a country illegally.
-
I can see running out of water on such a hike. What I can’t see if arresting a seven year old with heat stroke and not bothering to give her goddamn fluids. She had a body temp of 105. You can blame dad for bringing her here. But officials bear ultimate responsibility.
-
If you are going to be in charge of incarcerating children, you need to know the difference between a child who is sleepy and a child who is comatose.
-
Not to mention 8 hours is still a hefty amount of time. Funny how these people solely blaming the parents don’t think of the blatant fact you stated.

Sadly Shaun, Trump supporters blame the parents of this child instead.
-
Bc the parent let her become that dehydrated to the point where we couldn't save her. No food or water for days. How is that this nation's fault?
-
She wasn't in the custody of the parents
-
That's like blaming a hospital for not being able to save a gun shot victim. Parents to blame. Opponents of strong border patrol are also complicit in this child's death.
-
Does the hospital ask questions or do the doctors just do their jobs AND TRY TO SAVE A LIFE
