I don’t think Gillum and Abrams success transfers nationally because running in the south while black is the gift and the curse. They start off with a higher floor because of the sizable black population bloc, but it’s a lower ceiling because racism. So the margins are closer.

Also, comparing Abrams, Gillum, and O’Rourke really undersells the unique skills each one has. Honestly, I think Stacey Abrams should chair the DNC and Gillum could pick off Rubio’s seat. Beto is an interesting idea for president, but that’s because Texas is a country to itself.
