To all potential 2020 presidential candidates. I am looking at who you hire early on. From campaign manager on down. If I don't see genuine diversity from Day 1, I'm going to let you know right now that I will be putting you on blast. Just know that now.

To all potential 2020 presidential candidates. I am keeping a database of every public & private hire you make - from campaign manager, to policy advisors, to marketing firms, to consultants. If you don't have widespread diversity from the top down, I aim to put you on blast.

I'll tell you what else I'm looking for in presidential candidates. I just want to see if you have an actual history of fighting for the policy positions you now say you believe in. If you say you want to end mass incarceration, show me where you've fought for that before now

That seems ridiculous. Diversity for the sake of diversity instead of hiring people who give them the best chance of winning.

if their team isn't diverse there's a high chance they skipped over candidates based on what they look like

There are plenty of black people in politics that keep other poc at arms length at rallies while their actual staff looks the same as a white candidate. To assume someone will rep diversity because they come from a diverse background is, sadly, false

If the candidate is a good candidate we shouldn't have to worry about it. We definitely don't want a diverse group of people who work for the Establishment. I.e. Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, etc.,

We don't. We go after people who aren't for the People or who have shitty policies that won't help the People but help the elites instead. We love PoC. But we're not gonna support someone just because of their race when their policies won't benefit the People.

Literally all you have to do is look at their records and who they get $ from and it's clear who they work for. And it's not their constituents.

Including age diversity!! One of the major misfires in the HRC campaign was trying to hire hip Silicon Valley 30 year olds to craft messaging for the core of voters ...who are >40 and showing stunning age bias in their internal hires.

It’s curious that diversity means to some that you hire less qualified but a staff that is majority white and headed by white is always ok...black people pay taxes and the representation has been absent and the true needs neglected

Loving all the "just hire the best people" arguments"... Show me a candidate without a diverse staff that has truly made decisions based on merit rather than connections, family, personal history, money etc.

It’s nonexistent. Hiring on most campaigns are full of nepotism or a nod to a big donor. You diversify your search and you tend to reach the underrepresented.

That question suggests that by diversifying you couldn't keep standards high. Whether intended, you just suggested the two were mutually exclusive. Take some time to marinate, and find a new perspective. I am a Recruiter. I can help.

In no way was I saying that. However, minority’s don’t want to be hired just because of their minority’s status. Just like me as a female. I don’t want to be hired for that reason alone.

        K. Good, bc it's highly unlikely in my experience. What is more likely is that you get hired and are competent, but the narcissist who hired you talks down your expertise. Also, talent exists everywhere in every tint/gender/political leaning/age/abled-disabled, etc.
