My God. American police just killed another "good guy with a gun." Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr., better known as EJ, the son of a police officer, was an active duty officer for the Army, home for Thanksgiving. Murdered by police yesterday in a mall shooting in Alabama.pic.twitter.com/xHsiOPUD5y

This is the official Army photo of Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr. - known as EJ. Use this photo moving forward. He was a brilliant, compassionate, disciplined young man. First police tried to make him out to be a mass shooter. They lied. He should be alive and well right now.pic.twitter.com/o1iNxMiaSh

Two things: How long was he in the military? Read somewhere he was an officer. Is that true? If so where did he go to college? Base? Will the military investigate what happen? His family should be taken care of and he better get the 21 gun salute owed to him. #Army #Birmingham

Probably less than a year since he didn't finish AIT (advanced infantry training). Never made it to Active Duty. No, he was enlisted not an officer. Military won't investigate. He was already out. Family won't get the SGLI since he was out.

I am a Air Force veteran. Not familiar with Army terms. What do you mean by he never finished and he was already out? Did you find a article that talked about his military history?

I was air force as well. It's basically their tech school. There's a CNN article on him.

I guess that is the reason why nobody is reporting him as a veteran that died??

AIT stands for advanced individual training, you need it to be MOS Qualified. He never completed AIT therefore he wasn’t considered a soldier. Additionally, he received a general discharge (less than honorable) which could be anything, but doesn’t look good.

Unfortunately, he would have been alive if he wasn’t carrying a concealed weapon, and had it out during the shooting and aftermath, according to multiple news stories. Do we know for a fact he wasn’t part of the incident leading to the injuries? He had some reason to carry.

His reason for carrying is the 2nd Amendment. I reread it and there is no part that explains reasons to either Conceal or Open Carry
