I respect Pelosi & Schumer, but I don’t know much longer they expect every essential leadership position in the House & Senate to be held by white men and women. These aren’t lifetime appointments. They just aren’t. It’s the elephant in the room right now.
In the entire history of the Democratic Party, not a single Black woman has held a leadership position in the House (Speaker, Majority Leader, Whip, etc). Steny Hoyer should’ve stepped aside gracefully. But what I know is we must always fight for whatever power we have. Always.
Schumer should never have been reelected- he's useless. And yes, new faces, faces that are more representative of who the Democratic party truly is, are definitely needed.
Having said that, Trump sticks his middle finger up at the constitution and rule of law on a daily basis, which in my opinion doesn't make this a typical presidency, assuming you'd want to even use that word while he's in office.
So, if Pelosi is the strongest general we have (and I think her accomplishments make her worthy of that title) I can see the argument for leaving her in place as House Speaker for the time being, at least until we dump Trump, and in the interim groom someone else to succeed her.
Plus, at this point in time Pelosi has the support of a majority of Democrats for the position anyway. Why introduce what would amount to a party schism now when we still need to deal with Trump for another 2 years as well as prep for 2020?
I have no doubt this will all change with the newly elected members. This will definitely change! However right now it is simply the smart move to put Polosi back in. Turbulent times. We desperately need her experience. She’s been there-done that-and got the T-shirt.
There is still time for Steny Hoyer to step aside. House Dems won’t be selecting leadership team for a while. This is the position folks should be talking about. I support @clyburn for Majority Whip and @RepBarbaraLee for Majority Caucus Chair
The problem is that they state that Pelosi has "experience" working with both sides, even though this means hurting minorities. All that experience doesn't translate into making POC better. We need different leadership that pushes our interests like GOP pushes to eliminate them.

That will come now that women and people of color are fielding candidates and winning elections. I think the numbers were just not there before.
I get it . I believe the first rule of business is to remove Trump from the White House. The rest of the stuff we can sort out afterwards but he must go. I think Pence is complicit and if Pence pardons Trump Pence must go. First things first please.
