I must be frank. The majority of Democratic voters are people of color. The base. But ALL 4 of the top Democratic leadership positions in the House & Senate are held by white folk. This can’t continue. It’s embarrassing that this must even be said out loud.

In the entire history of the Democratic Party, not a single Black woman has held a leadership position in the House (Speaker, Majority Leader, Whip, etc). Steny Hoyer should’ve stepped aside gracefully. But what I know is we must always fight for whatever power we have. Always.

Yeah, but it’s funny how Schumer was re-appointed with barely a whimper, but it’s Pelosi who is getting all the blow back, despite the fact that she’s been far more effective than him.
-
The Senate is the minority. He is basically a place holder.

Nancy Pelosi already said she doesn’t plan on camping out in the leader position. She’s a solid choice to get this new group started.

I don't respect either of them. They've done nothing but sell us out to the GOP every single time they take power. I mean Nancy getting Donald's endorsement should be the end of her career in leadership.
-
I’m amazed at how many champions of the left fall for Trump’s juvenile and transparent efforts to turn the left against their true, effective leaders. No wonder we got stuck w him.

Right, it's not because Nancy is doing what Donald couldn't.https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/nancy-pelosi-pushing-rules-change-that-would-kneecap-liberals …

I m not sure Democratic Party can afford for move those leaderships positions to the new incoming lot..many inexperienced they can be part of committees for now and then take over 2 yrs down
-
I am a little tired of people acting as if those leadership jobs are as difficult as rocket science. Spare me, experience is one thing but it takes a set of skills as well, that a large amount of people have.
-
This is an extremely naive position.
-
Extremely naive? Well I think people overrating how hard a Congressional leadership positions shows an extreme lack of understand concerning historical context related to the positions. Additionally, it shows an extreme lack of understanding concering transferable skills.
-
Lastly, I am far too knowledgeable to be naive about anything I discuss, so you can FO.

did They say they expect that or are you projecting? Pelosi is the right call for Speaker right now whether you like it or not. Maybe start with thanking her for helping elect more diverse and progressive candidates.

Agree with the overall point but not sure it's true that a majority of Dem voters are people of color? https://news.gallup.com/poll/160373/democrats-racially-diverse-republicans-mostly-white.aspx … Largest demographic chunk may be white women (just cuz white pp majority, and ww vote D more than wm do)
-
And I believe Pelosi is only woman leader in history of House & Senate... Premature to treat as though leadership by white men AND women is commonplace expectation. Like you say, Hoyer should've stepped aside.

At this point, we need the people who are going to get the job done, and Pelosi is it. New guard coming in would do best to learn all they can from her, and build on that. Mentoring yes, replacement no. This division is not what we need right now.

Ok, I think all these new folks need to learn first before they think they should be speaker, get on HC and other things FIRST, what is it about power?.... Schumer should go, he's still minority speaker. My opinion
