5. I said all of that to say that while I am grateful for people who are willing and able to walk into compromised spaces w/ genuinely evil people to negotiate on behalf of the oppressed, they must do so knowing they are playing with snakes and vipers. Trump is a not a uniter.

6. In the end, I won't be throwing @VanJones68 away. I regret his words, and believe they were problematic. He made a mistake.
Ultimately, I will use my energy to get back into the fight for serious criminal justice reforms.
I'd give this new bill a C-/D+. It needs real work.

It wasn’t a mistake. I spoke to Van MONTHS ago face to face about him giving Trump credit with one of his other comments. This dude is focused on finding props to give Trump, and I’m not here for a second of it. I just keep praying ANY smart black woman takes his spot.

Thank you, Shaun. Besides the uniter line, Van pushing this bill as if it is compehensive is only doing Trump's bidding, and lets GOP off the hook for more. He's not being honest, that this is a good development, but doesn't undo damage Trump has done and doesn't end the struggle
