If you go to your county supervisor’s website, you can check the status of your ballot. If it says, “received” that means you’re ok and they accepted your ballot. If it says “call your county supervisor” it means they rejected your ballot

Do… you really not know about provisional ballots? They're a ballot you can fill out on election day if they can't immediately tell if you qualify to vote. It gets put in an envelope and you work with them to investigate and if you qualified it gets counted

It's there in case they make a mistake in the voter rolls (happens a lot more than you'd think!) so that every qualified voter can be heard. The deadline today is just to work it out with the election board, you can't *cast* a ballot any more

It's more safe against fraud than regular ballots because each one is manually investigated and it's still a felony to cast a provisional if you know you won't qualify later
